Analysis of gender disparity among faculty

Click here to read this story.

It took me three weeks to research and write this story. After interviewing dozens of female faculty members, (the majority who wished to remain anonymous) I became really infuriated with the work-life issues discussed in this story. Although the feedback I have received, both on and off campus, has been phenomenal, I still feel like I have done nothing to change or further the issue. I am currently writing a column to propose for publication in the Atlanta Journal- Constitution about UGA's lack of effort to increase faculty's work-life benefits in hopes that a larger audience may be a bigger push. After all, the administration probably won't budge on this until they are forced to do so.

Trying to understand my father's Father

This is my most recent column published in The Red & Black. It took me many drafts to get a final copy I was happy with, but now that it's published I am thrilled with the outcome. I was expecting a lot of negative feedback, especially from those of the religious right, but I actually received a lot of positive e-mails from people who said they could relate to my experience.
